5 euro – 100 Years Football

This 5 euro silver coin depicts the successful shot by a soccer player, shown in the background, who has just kicked the ball past the goal tender into the net. The goal keeper is still in the midst of his jump for the ball that has already past him and has been caught in the net. The engravers of the Austrian Mint have created a very interesting design in which the net of the goal seems to cover this side of the coin.
