20 euro – Art and Faith - The Good Shepherd

This 20 euro coin accompanies us on an inner pilgrimage, guided by the gaze of the Good Shepherd. On the reverse, the scene becomes universal: the Good Shepherd carries the lost sheep upon his shoulders, an image as ancient as the Gospel, yet eternally new. In that gesture are gathered mercy, trust, and the promise that no one is ever too far away to be brought home. On the obverse, art becomes sacred architecture: the papal coat of arms is set within a grid recalling the structure of the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica, opened for the Jubilee. The panels, left empty in the background, reflect the light like windows opening toward the divine. The crossed keys, the tiara, and the pilgrim’s shell, freely reinterpreted by the artist, become guides for those who cross that sacred threshold: the door of grace, forgiveness, and return. Gabriella Titotto chisels a narrative of pilgrimage and redemption into every detail. This coin is an invitation to trust, to allow oneself to be found, and to walk toward the light This coin is a caress in copper, a fragment of faith coined to tell the very heart of the Jubilee.
