2 euro – Lithuania‘s energy independence
Series: Lithuania – Commemorative 2 euro coins
The centre of the national side of the coin (obverse) bears a symbol of energy – the bird of freedom, soaring dynamically and vigorously upward. The lightning motifs symbolise energy and purpose. At the top of the coin, the bird’s head morphs into a stylised version of the Columns of the Gediminas, while the wings illustrate the harmony between internal energy sources and new external connections. “Lietuva” (Lithuania) is inscribed on the left of the composition, and the right bears the year of issue (2026) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. The coin’s outer ring displays the 12 stars of the EU flag.
