100 euro – Georges Braque

After featuring four great Impressionist painters, Monnaie de Paris is now paying tribute to modernist painters. Georges Braque (1882-1963), a French painter and sculptor. His initial work was influenced by Impressionism but he then started to develop a new system of representation based around simplifying shapes into geometric forms and flattening perspectives.
