10 euro – Santiago Ramón y Cajal Year of Research

On the occasion that this year the Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Science and Innovation, has declared 2022 Santiago Ramón y Cajal Year of Research, the Spanish Mint-Real Casa de la Moneda (Royal Mint) has issued an 8 Reales silver coin commemorating this event. The reverse of the coin shows an image of the Spanish scientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal with the figure of the image he created of an axial section of the retina. The obverse shows H.M. King Felipe VI of Spain.
