10 euro – 5th Centenary of Isabella I of Castile

The year 2004 marks the 500th anniversary of the death of Isabella "the Catholic", Queen of Castile between 1474 and 1504, and an outstanding figure in the history of Spain. The obverse features overlapping busts of Their Majesties King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. The reverse depicts Queen Isabella I of Castile, based on the anonymous portrait that hangs in the Naval Museum in Madrid.
