On the occasion of the V Centenary of the Round the World Race, completed by Juan Sebastián de Elcano, the FNMT-RCM celebrates this important event with several coin mints, and in this case we are issuing the 40 euro collector's coin in sterling silver, "V CENTENARY OF THE AROUND THE WORLD TRIP". The obverse features the superimposed effigies of Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. On the reverse, occupying the central part of the coin, is a world map by the Italian cartographer Battista Agnese, an image from the collections of the National Library of Spain, on which is superimposed a representation of the Nao Victoria. At the top, in a circle and in capital letters, the legend V CENTENARIO VUELTA AL MUNDO. At the bottom, the value of the coin 40 EURO, the mint mark and, inside a circle, in the form of a quadruple latent image as an additional security measure, a nao, the mint mark, a five-pointed star and 22. The coin is presented in a transparent, heat-sealed plastic wrapper, as shown in the image.
