Metal composition: the core of the coin is made of an alloy consisting of 92% copper, 6% aluminium and 2% nickel, while the ring is made of an alloy exhibiting a silver lustre, which consists of 75% copper and 25% nickel. Diameter and weight: the coin is shaped as a regular dodecagon, with the circumscribed circle diameter of 32 mm, with potential deviations as specified for the core and the ring, and weighs 12.75 g. The core of the coin is 18 mm in diameter and weighs 4.05 g. The ring is 18 mm in inner diameter and weighs 8.70 g. Motif on the obverse: the inner part of the core features a house, an apple, the sun, a butterfly and flowers, symbolising the well-being and some of the fundamental rights of the child: a safe home, food and free play in the nature. The day of observance marking the World Children's Day “20. 11. 2021.” and the text “MEĐUNARODNI DAN DJETETA” (WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY) are inscribed in the coin core. An image of children connected together in a circle dance, symbolising their cooperation and togetherness as well as creativity and play, is laid out circularly within the coin's ring. Motif on the reverse: the stylised denomination numeral “25” and the name of the monetary unit “KUNA” are inscribed in the upper part of the coin's core. The lower part of the core reveals the stylised image of a marten. Positioned above the denomination numeral, the name of the monetary unit and the image of a marten, the inscription “REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA” is laid out circularly on the coin's ring surface. Positioned below the denomination numeral, the name of the monetary unit and the image of a marten, on the coin's ring surface, is an image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia. A common oak branch with acorns is positioned at the left from the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia on the coin's ring surface, while a blooming laurel branch is positioned on the ring at the right by the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia.
