The coin has a silver ring and the colour of the niobium "pill" is gold-brown. In the inner portion of this side is a compass rose showing all points of the compass. The inscription above the compass rose shows the exact coordinates of the location of the Austrian Mint in Vienna. The niobium portion of the reverse side of the coin depicts navigation satellites orbiting the Earth. The ring of silver shows means of transportation (airplane, container ship, train, truck) for which satellite navigation was developed.
