10 euro - The Baptism MMXXV
Series: Vatican City - Gold 10 euro coins

Inspired by the mystery of Baptism, the Vatican Mint’s 10-euro gold coin depicts the face of Christ receiving the water poured from the hand of John the Baptist, while the dove evokes the presence of the Spirit uniting heaven and earth. The essential and luminous style of the scene recalls the moment when God enters history in humility, fully sharing the human condition. As Pope Leo XIV recalled on January 11, “He who is baptized by John in the Jordan makes of this gesture a new sign of death and resurrection, of forgiveness and communion.” In this small masterpiece, the gesture at the Jordan becomes a living memory: the Lord enters our history and illuminates our path with the light of the Risen One. On the obverse appears the coat of arms of Pope Leo XIV, accompanied by the inscriptions “LEO PP. XIV - MMXXV. AN. I”
