10 euro: 2nd Series Spanish Painters – Dalí - Portrait of Pablo Picasso in the 21st Century
Series: Spain: Silver 10 euro coins
The obverse, common to all three silver 8-real coins, features the central scene from the work "Self-Portrait with l'Humanité" (1923). In this painting, Dalí paints himself dressed as a laborer and acting like an agitator, thus attesting to his admiration for the revolutionary ideas of the time. The reverse of this second silver 8-real coin that has been given a 10-euro face value reproduces the work "Portrait of Pablo Picasso in the 21st Century" (1947), an oil painting which forms part of the series of portraits of personalities that this universal painter regarded as geniuses.
